Denmark’s Milk Production Declines in February 2023, Organic Milk Deliveries and Milk Prices Decrease

  • Total milk production ex farm decreased from 488.30 million kg in January to 449.00 million kg in February.
  • Delivered milk to dairies also decreased from 481.86 million kg in January to 442.56 million kg in February.
  • Organic milk delivered to dairies decreased from 61.90 million kg in January to 56.00 million kg in February.
  • Average fat content of delivered milk to dairies increased from 4.33% in January to 4.46% in February.
  • Average protein content of delivered milk to dairies increased from 3.62% in January to 3.67% in February.
  • Milk ex farm price decreased from 357.72 DKK per kg in January to 343.95 DKK per kg in February.
  • Milk ex farm price for milk with 4.2% fat content and 3.4% protein content decreased from 338.22 DKK per kg in January to 315.94 DKK per kg in February.
  • Total milk production ex farm in monetary value decreased from 1,724.38 million DKK in January to 1,522.82 million DKK in February.
  • Production of butter remained constant at 9.00 million kg in both January and February.
  • Production of cheese decreased from 40.00 million kg in January to 37.00 million kg in February.
  • Production of preserved milk decreased from 7.50 million kg in January to 6.60 million kg in February.
  • Production of cream milk powder, whole milk powder, and partly skimmed powder decreased from 4.10 million kg in January to 3.80 million kg in February.
  • Production of skimmed milk powder decreased from 3.40 million kg in January to 2.80 million kg in February.
  • Data on skimmed milk powder export is not available for February.
  • Price ratio of milk/compound feeds for cattle decreased from 7.73 in January to 7.43 in February.
