Reserve Bank of Australia welcomes recommendations of review to strengthen institution’s governance and operations.

The Governor of the Reserve Bank of Australia welcomes the conclusions of the Review into the Reserve Bank, which has been conducted in a timely manner given the increasingly complex operating environment of the RBA. The Review recommends establishing separate boards for monetary policy and the governance of the Bank, which will require changes to the Reserve Bank Act. The report also recommends updating the Statement on the Conduct of Monetary Policy, enhancing the communications function, encouraging a culture of debate within the Bank, strengthening the role of research and investing in leadership and management capabilities.
