Norway’s Price Index of First-Hand Domestic Sales for April 2023 Indicates Monthly Rise in Beverages and Tobacco

The Price index of first-hand domestic sales, updated as of May 10, 2023, shows that the total index increased by 0.4% from March 2023 to April 2023, with a current index of 168.1 (2015=1001). Among the product groups, food increased by 0.6%, while beverages and tobacco increased by 1.6%. On the other hand, chemicals and related products, n.e.s. decreased by 0.8%. The weights are updated annually, and the reference year for PIF is changed to 2015 (2015=100).
