Construction Turnover Increases by 2.7% in March 2023, Sales Volume Decreases by 3.8%

According to new data released by Statistics Finland, the working day adjusted turnover of construction enterprises increased by 2.7% in March 2023 compared to the same period one year ago. However, the volume of sales, after the impact of price changes was eliminated, decreased by 3.8%. The turnover of civil engineering adjusted for working days decreased by 4.0%, and sales volume decreased by 10.5% compared to one year before. On the other hand, turnover in specialised construction activities increased by 3.8%, and sales volume decreased by 2.9% from one year earlier. Despite the growth in turnover, sales volume remained weaker due to the higher-than-usual growth in the prices of civil engineering in March.
