The Party Committee of the People’s Bank of China (PBOC) organized a study class for the third phase of learning and implementing Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era. Party committee members conducted collective study and discussions focused on the theme of “being courageous in self-revolution, winning the historical initiative, and persistently advancing the comprehensive strict governance of the Party.” Guo Shuqing, the Secretary of the Party Committee of the People’s Bank of China, presided over the study class and delivered concluding remarks. Qu Jishan, member of the Party Committee and head of the discipline inspection and supervision team, and Xuan Changneng, member of the Party Committee and vice president, delivered keynote speeches. Other party committee members also shared their views during the study and discussion sessions.
During the study class, party committee members earnestly studied the materials prescribed for the theme education and kept up with the latest important speeches and articles by General Secretary Xi Jinping. They focused on a deep understanding of General Secretary Xi Jinping’s important expositions on comprehensively strict Party governance and advancing the Party’s self-revolution, while integrating the study with their own thoughts and the work in their respective fields. When sharing their experiences, party committee members emphasized that leading the great social revolution with a great self-revolution embodies the profound theoretical logic of Marxism, condenses the precious historical experience of the Party’s century-long struggle, and demonstrates the practical requirements of governing the country and the Party in the new era. Through in-depth learning, senior party cadres should effectively enhance their consciousness and determination to carry forward the spirit of self-revolution. They should take the opportunity of theme education to review and rectify, as well as educate and rectify the cadre team of the People’s Bank of China, advancing the comprehensive strict governance of the Party to a deeper level.
Guo Shuqing emphasized that it is essential to deeply understand that conducting theme education is an inevitable requirement for comprehensively advancing the strict governance of the Party and guiding the social revolution with the Party’s self-revolution. It is a concentrated effort to address prominent problems such as impure ideology, impure organization, and impure work style within the Party. Efforts should be made to strengthen the transformation of the subjective world, fortify the ideological defense line against corruption and degeneration, and focus on resolving issues such as insufficient in-depth study and implementation of the Party’s innovative theories. Education should guide and urge Party members and cadres to truly rectify and consolidate their ideological foundations and moral character. Party members and cadres should firmly stand on the side of the people, strengthen their sense of purpose, establish the correct views on political achievements and power, and always maintain the political nature of communists. The rectification of problems should be integrated throughout the entire process of theme education, with a focus on solving various problems in implementing macroeconomic regulation, preventing and resolving risks, supporting technological innovation, promoting high-quality development, and addressing issues in the cadre team. It is necessary to persistently investigate and rectify, paying attention to resolving problems from a systemic and institutional perspective. Rectification efforts should guard against formalism, prevent oversimplification, and ensure tangible results in addressing issues that can be felt by the people and cadre staff.
Furthermore, it is important to consolidate and expand the achievements of institutional reforms, persistently promote the formulation and implementation of systems, and use the effective execution of systems to standardize the exercise of power. This will promote Party members and cadres to fulfill their duties, take on responsibilities, and act accordingly. Currently, the People’s Bank of China is steadily advancing institutional reforms in accordance with the unified arrangements of the Party Central Committee. The tasks are extremely arduous, and it is necessary to closely integrate theme education and institutional reforms, coordinate and promote them mutually, in order to achieve better results.
