Finnish Industrial Sales Reached €105 Billion in 2022

Helsinki, July 3, 2023 (Statistical Center of Finland) – The Finnish industrial sector experienced significant growth in 2022, with the total value of sold production reaching approximately €104.7 billion. Additionally, subcontracting fees accounted for around €3.4 billion, adding to the industry’s overall performance.

The latest industrial production statistics show that the total value of sold production in the industrial sectors B (Mining and Quarrying) and C (Manufacturing) amounted to nearly €105 billion in 2022. Among the various industries, the three largest contributors to the total value were the metal industry with €41.5 billion, the chemical industry with €24.8 billion, and the forest industry with €20.1 billion. The overall value of industrial production also includes mining activities and production from other sectors.

Subcontracting fees grew from €3.0 billion to €3.4 billion, with the most notable change observed in copper subcontracting, which increased by €122 million. The metal industry dominated the subcontracting activities, accounting for 68% of the entire subcontracting value.
