Prime Minister Rutte, together with Minister Hoekstra of Foreign Affairs and Minister Ollongren of Defense, will participate in the NATO summit in Vilnius, Lithuania, taking place on the 11th and 12th of July.
On Tuesday, July 11th, Prime Minister Rutte will take part in the NATO Public Forum titled “Standing Up For Our Values: Ensuring Continued Support to Ukraine.” He will also attend the North Atlantic Council (NAC) meeting. In the evening, he will join a dinner hosted by Lithuanian President Nausėda.
On Wednesday, July 12th, the Prime Minister will participate in a working session with various NATO partners, including Australia, Japan, New Zealand, and South Korea. Later in the day, he will attend a meeting of NATO allies with Ukraine.
During the summit, Minister Ollongren will contribute to a panel session on the NATO Strategic Concept and participate in an informal working session with Defense Ministers. Minister Hoekstra will attend a meeting of Foreign Affairs Ministers and the High Representative of the EU.
The NATO summit provides an important platform for leaders to discuss and address key security challenges, enhance cooperation among member states, and strengthen the alliance’s collective defense capabilities. The Dutch delegation’s presence reflects the Netherlands’ commitment to international security and its active role within NATO.
