Increase in Industrial Order Intake and Turnover, May 2023

Sweden’s industrial sector experienced a significant increase in order intake during May 2023. Both domestic and export markets contributed to this positive trend. Compared to April, domestic order intake rose by 2.1%, while export order intake surged by 15.0%. On an annual basis, order intake increased by 14.9% compared to May 2022. However, year-to-date order intake for January-May 2023 was 1.4% lower than the same period in 2022. Despite the ongoing impact of COVID-19, the industrial sector in Sweden showed resilience and demonstrated positive growth.
