Norway’s Housing Market Shows Modest Price Increase in Q2 2023

In the second quarter of 2023, Norway’s housing market shows a modest increase in prices. Seasonally adjusted data reveals a 1.1% growth from the previous quarter. The highest price growth is observed in apartment buildings, which rise by 2.4%. Detached houses and small houses also see moderate increases of 0.7% and 0.5% respectively. Among the 11 regions, 10 witness an increase in housing prices, with Trøndelag leading the way with a 3.0% surge. The only region to experience a decrease is Møre og Romsdal and Vestland without Bergen, where prices fall by 0.5%. Overall, the housing market remains relatively stable compared to the same quarter in the previous year, with a minor decline of 0.1%. Agder and Rogaland without Stavanger see the highest price growth, rising by 3.2%, while Akershus without Bærum records a 1.7% decrease. Stavanger is the only one among the four major cities to witness price increases, with a 2.4% jump.
