Beijing, China – On August 1st, the Chinese Communist Party Committee of the People’s Bank of China (PBOC) and the Party Group of the State Administration of Foreign Exchange (SAFE) held a conference to exchange research findings from their themed education and investigation activities. During the meeting, they thoroughly studied and implemented the important instructions and remarks of General Secretary Xi Jinping regarding themed education and research, exchanged and discussed research findings, and analyzed typical cases. Deputy Head of the Central Guidance Group for Themed Education, Lu Xi, and other relevant comrades attended the meeting to provide guidance. The conference was presided over by Pan Gongsheng, Secretary of the Communist Party Committee and Governor of the People’s Bank of China, and Secretary of the Party Group and Director of the State Administration of Foreign Exchange. Members of the Communist Party Committee of the People’s Bank of China and the Party Group of the State Administration of Foreign Exchange were also present.
The conference emphasized that since the launch of themed education, under the strong guidance of the 33rd Central Guidance Group, the Communist Party Committees of the People’s Bank of China and the State Administration of Foreign Exchange have held multiple meetings, including committee meetings and theoretical learning center group meetings. They have also conducted in-depth investigations and research at branch institutions, enterprises, financial institutions, and more. Through this, they have grasped the real situation, analyzed key issues, and promptly formulated the “Four Lists” (lists of problems, tasks, responsibilities, and achievements) to address outstanding challenges in financial services’ high-quality development and central banking and foreign exchange management. As a result, they have achieved positive results in strengthening the Party’s leadership and Party building.
The conference also stressed that the People’s Bank of China and the State Administration of Foreign Exchange system should fully grasp the overall requirements, fundamental tasks, and specific objectives of themed education, according to the unified deployment of the Party Central Committee and the requirements of the Central Guidance Group. They should actively and effectively carry out themed education and research, organize and plan themed democratic life meetings and organizational life meetings with high standards and high quality, and ensure smooth transition and integration between the two batches of themed education. Leadership teams at all levels should continue to strengthen the exchange of research findings, further clarify the work measures and timelines for addressing discovered issues, and deeply ponder on medium and long-term measures to address problems at the institutional level. A sound and effective long-term mechanism for investigation and research should be established and improved. Investigation and research should be treated as a working method and habit to continuously enhance the targeted and effective financial policies, improve the quality of central banking and foreign exchange management, and advance the development of China’s unique financial sector.
