On September 22, 2023, the 12th meeting of the China-Kazakhstan Cooperation Committee’s Financial Cooperation Sub-Committee (referred to as the China-Kazakhstan Sub-Committee) was held. The meeting was jointly chaired by the Chinese Co-Chair, Deputy Governor of the People’s Bank of China, Xuan Changneng, and the Kazakh Co-Chair, Deputy Chairman of the National Bank of Kazakhstan, Moldabekova.
The main topics of the meeting included discussions on expanding bilateral currency settlements, strengthening payment services and bank cards, enhancing trade and project financing, and deepening financial supervision cooperation. Representatives in attendance engaged in in-depth discussions on these topics and reached a broad consensus.
This meeting reflects the determination of both China and Kazakhstan to cooperate closely and develop together in the field of finance. Through enhanced cooperation, both sides aim to facilitate trade and investment, promote the stability and innovation of the financial system, and make a positive contribution to the economic prosperity and sustainable development of both China and Kazakhstan.
