People’s Bank of China to Release 2024 Edition Panda Precious Metal Commemorative Coins

The People’s Bank of China has announced the upcoming issuance of a collection of 14 precious metal commemorative coins featuring pandas, set to be released on October 30, 2023. These coins include 6 common panda gold and silver commemorative coins, as well as 8 refined panda precious metal commemorative coins, all recognized as legal tender in the People’s Republic of China.

1. Commemorative Coin Pattern:

The obverse side of the coins showcases the Temple of Prayer for Good Harvests in the Temple of Heaven, Beijing, with the country’s name and the year imprinted. On the reverse side, a heartwarming portrayal of a mother and child giant panda is featured, accompanied by the denomination, weight, and fineness details.

  • 30-gram round gold commemorative coin (500 yuan face value, 99.9% fineness, 1,000,000 pieces max circulation)
  • 15-gram round gold commemorative coin (200 yuan face value, 99.9% fineness, 200,000 pieces max circulation)
  • 8-gram round gold commemorative coin (100 yuan face value, 99.9% fineness, 200,000 pieces max circulation)
  • 3-gram round gold commemorative coin (50 yuan face value, 99.9% fineness, 500,000 pieces max circulation)
  • 1-gram round gold commemorative coin (10 yuan face value, 99.9% fineness, 500,000 pieces max circulation)
  • 30-gram round silver commemorative coin (10 yuan face value, 99.9% fineness, 10,000,000 pieces max circulation)
  • 1 kg round gold commemorative coin (10,000 yuan face value, 99.9% fineness, 1,000 coins max circulation)
  • 150-gram round gold commemorative coin (2,000 yuan face value, 99.9% fineness, 10,000 coins max circulation)
  • 100-gram round gold commemorative coin (1,500 yuan face value, 99.9% fineness, 20,000 coins max circulation)
