Rapid Progress in Indonesia’s Strategic Infrastructure Projects

Several National Strategic Projects (PSN) in Indonesia are making significant strides in their development, with some projects reaching substantial completion, even up to 90%.

PT Waskita Karya (Persero) Tbk continues its efforts to complete various PSN, including six dams, nine toll roads, the irrigation modernization range project, the Regional Umbalan Jatim SPAM project, and the Inalum smelter upgrading.

Achievements of Waskita Karya Projects (as of October 15, 2023):

  • Temef Dam project package 4 reached 83.6%
  • Ciawi-Sukabumi Toll Road section 2 achieved 100%
  • Inalum smelter upgrading project reached 94.90%
  • Irrigation modernization range project achieved 80.66%
  • Regional Umbulan Jatim SPAM project reached 82.43%

Waskita Karya’s commitment to completing these projects contributes to economic growth, job creation, and supports Indonesia’s development towards Indonesia Maju 2045. The progress aligns with the mandate outlined in Presidential Regulation No. 21 of 2022, where the Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) is tasked with implementing the development of 125 PSN projects across Indonesia.

According to Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto, out of a total of 210 PSN, 158 have been completed with an investment value of IDR 1,102.7 trillion. Minister of PUPR Basuki Hadimuljono noted that, as of July 2023, 87 PSN projects, or 70% of the target, have been completed. The infrastructure plays a crucial role in reducing logistics costs, enhancing the nation’s competitiveness, and promoting equitable development and social justice.
