The population data as of January 1, 2021, within the territorial boundaries of municipalities as of January 1, 2023, has been officially released and authenticated by a decree currently under development (end of December 2023).
The 2021 vintage legal populations will come into effect on January 1, 2024. Their statistical reference date is January 1, 2021.
For the overseas collectivities of Saint-Barthélemy, Saint-Martin, and Saint-Pierre-et-Miquelon, data collection, processing, and statistical analysis are carried out within the framework of the renovated census (Article 156 of Law 2002-276). Their legal populations are updated annually.

- Code 975: Saint-Pierre-et-Miquelon – Population: 5,873
- Code 977: Saint-Barthélemy – Population: 10,464
- Code 978: Saint-Martin – Population: 31,477
