Western Balkans leaders review progress on EU Growth Plan after two years

Western Balkans leaders in Tirana reviewed progress on the EU Growth Plan two years after its adoption. Commissioner for Enlargement Marta Kos met with heads of Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kosovo, Montenegro, North Macedonia and Serbia. The plan, backed by a €6 billion Reform and Growth Facility, has driven reforms that prepare partners for EU membership and bring economic benefits. By 2025, 85 % of reform steps were on track, and €414 million of the facility had been released, including €164 million to Albania, €45 million to Montenegro and €76 million to North Macedonia. The partners also expanded Single Market integration: 32 banks joined SEPA and several Digital Innovation Hubs were established. The meeting reinforced a commitment to accelerate reforms and involve civil society.
