On Thursday, 11 December 2025, Rijkswaterstaat hosted a residents evening at the community house of Stichting Elinkwijk’s Belang to discuss plans for a temporary radar post on the Demkabocht, the location of a new radar post, and the widening of the Demkabocht in the Amsterdam‑Rijnkanaal. Project team members explained the proposals and answered questions. An online questionnaire was offered on site, and 111 residents completed it. Results show that 55% of respondents want a recreational function at the new radar post, 36% prefer an ecological function, and the remaining participants had no clear preference. Rijkswaterstaat will incorporate the questionnaire results and concerns from the evening into the next stage of the radar‑post planning.
