The European Court of Auditors will publish a report in spring 2026 examining the effectiveness of EU‑backed measures to help young people secure lasting employment. The audit covers the 2014‑2020 period of European Social Fund (ESF) and Youth Employment Initiative (YEI) funding, completed REACT‑EU actions, and future ESF+ planning. It focuses on Italy, Spain and Germany and looks at whether programmes such as the Youth Guarantee and recruitment incentives produce jobs that last 12‑18 months. The review follows earlier ECA studies of the ESF and YEI and seeks to determine how well EU support promotes sustainable labour‑market integration for 15‑29‑year‑olds. Results will guide future EU policy on youth employment.
