Multiple Nations Launch One Health Integration Cycle for Upcoming COPs

France, Cambodia, Botswana, Cyprus, Kenya, Armenia, Egypt, Brazil, Singapore, Thailand, United Arab Emirates, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Mexico, Tunisia, WHO, OMSA, Africa CDC, CGIAR and FAO have issued a joint declaration to strengthen the integration of One Health into climate action. The partners launch a voluntary cycle for 2026–2028 that will embed human, animal and ecosystem health considerations into national climate commitments, adaptation plans and sectoral strategies. Key actions include placing epidemiological surveillance and nutrition at the core of adaptation policies, improving climate‑health data sharing, and developing resilient health service continuity and early‑warning systems. Milestones are set for COP31 in 2026, a technical note in 2027, and consolidated recommendations for COP32 and the 2028 Global Adaptation Assessment. The cycle aims to align existing funding mechanisms without creating new institutional structures.
