EU and Armenia Hold First Summit in Yerevan

The European Union and Armenia held their first summit in Yerevan on 4–5 May 2026, marking a new stage in their partnership. EU leaders Ursula von der Leyen, António Costa and Vice‑President Kaja Kallas met with Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan to review progress and strengthen cooperation. The discussion focused on the economy, connectivity, and security, and included plans to boost regional stability in the South Caucasus. Key outcomes announced were the launch of an EU‑Armenia Connectivity Partnership covering transport, energy, digital and people‑to‑people ties, and initiatives to mobilise EU investment in Armenia.
