Attorney General Relaunches Public Legal Education Committee

On 28 April 2026 the Attorney General’s Office announced the relaunch of the Public Legal Education (PLE) Committee. The Committee will return to the Office’s secretariat and be led by members from the public legal education community, meeting four times a year and keeping its existing adult and youth sub‑groups. The Attorney General will give strategic oversight, attend meetings and meet the committee co‑chairs annually. The first priority is putting the new Public Legal Education Principles into practice, co‑created with stakeholders at a recent PLE Policy Hackathon. The Office will improve coordination, share evidence and best practice, and help reach people in the right places and formats. The five principles – Legal capability, Evidence‑led, Active participation, Responsive and National mission – guide this effort.
