On 30 April 2026, the Office for National Statistics (ONS) released early experimental data on real‑time economic activity and social change in the UK. The new indicators combine rapid response surveys, novel data sources and experimental methods. The release includes a dashboard and an overview publication, and provides weekly and daily data sets covering: ship visits to UK ports, automotive fuel demand per transaction, system electricity price and seven‑day average, system average gas price on the on‑day commodity market, potential redundancies from insolvency forms, daily UK flight numbers, weekly Energy Performance Building Certificate counts, and retail footfall by region. These statistics are in development and sourced from exactEarth, ONS calculations, Elexon, National Gas Transmission, Insolvency Service, EUROCONTROL, Ministry of Housing, BT Active Intelligence.
