Spain’s Minister Saiz to Attend UN Migration Review Forum

Spain’s Minister of Inclusion, Social Security and Migration, Elma Saiz, will attend the second International Forum of Migration Review at the United Nations from May 6‑8, 2026. The forum examines progress on the Global Compact for Safe, Orderly and Regular Migration. Saiz will co‑preside a main board on evidence‑based migration governance with Bangladesh, present Spain’s rights‑based approach, and defend the Spanish migration model and ongoing extraordinary regularisation process in the General Debate. She will also hold bilateral meetings with representatives from the Migration Policy Institute, Colombia, Ecuador and the International Organization for Migration, among others. The event will conclude with the adoption of a Progress Declaration on the Compact.
