The Italian National Institute of Health (ISS) has reopened its 5×1000-funded grant program for researchers under 40. The call, published on 30 April 2026, invites permanent ISS staff who will turn 40 in 2026 (born on or after 1 January 1986) to submit research proposals by 14 May 2026, 11:59 a.m. through the web portal https://webiss-7.iss.it/ISSGrantApp/. Information on application guidelines can be requested at direzione.cori@iss.it. Since 2020, the ISS has selected and financed eight projects—about 10 percent of submitted proposals—supporting young researchers’ professional development. Stories of past recipients and donation instructions are available on the new 5×1000 portal. Applicants should use the portal to download guidelines and upload full proposals. The ISS encourages contributions to the 5×1000 scheme to support innovative projects.
