SIA to raise ACS registration fee to £25 per licensable individual

The Security Industry Authority (SIA) announced that, effective 1 June 2026, the annual registration fee for the Approved Contractor Scheme (ACS) will rise from £15 to £25 per licensable individual. This marks the first increase in the scheme’s history, though the new fee remains below the rate set when the ACS was introduced in 2006, even after accounting for inflation. The SIA also changed the discount for additional individual licence applications: a 50 % discount will only apply if the second licence is submitted on the same day using the same application form. Previously the discount could be claimed at any time. The authority said the adjustments are necessary to recover the full costs of the ACS and related services, and are not linked to Martyn’s Law.
