On 29 May 2026 the European Central Bank (ECB) announced the appointment of three Directors General. Roland Straub will become Director General Monetary Policy, effective 1 July 2026, succeeding Massimo Rostagno. Kamps, currently Acting Director General Monetary Policy, joined the ECB in 2005 and has a PhD from the University of Kiel. Senkovic, previously Director General Secretariat, holds a master’s in European law and a PhD from Sorbonne University. The appointments were welcomed by ECB President Christine Lagarde, who praised their experience.
