Bank of Spain Hosts Joint History Symposium with CEPR

The Bank of Spain hosted the 13th CEPR (Centre for Economic Policy Research) History Symposium and the 11th Banco de España Economic History Seminar at its premises in Roda de Berà on 27, 28 and 29 May 2026. The conference, opened by Deputy Governor Soledad Núñez, brought together representatives from both institutions and the international academic community. Over three days, participants discussed a range of economic history topics, including globalisation and the legacies of colonisation, financial, banking and monetary history, financial integration during the interwar period, and the role of institutions. Sessions also examined technological and cultural change, demographic trends, gender gaps and economic empowerment.
