ETAP‑C 2026: European Airlift Exercise Held at Orléans‑Bricy

From 1 to 12 June 2026, the European Tactical Airlift Programme (ETAP‑C) was held at Orléans‑Bricy airbase. The Centre d’Instruction des Équipages de Transport coordinated multinational tactical air‑transport training for crews from France, Germany and Spain. France supplied two A400M Atlas aircraft, a C‑130 Hercules from a binational squadron and a CASA, while Germany and Spain each provided an A400M. Additional fighters, aerial refuelling and surveillance platforms were deployed to support interoperability and readiness for contested air operations. The press day on 11 June highlighted the A400M’s advanced avionics, rapid response capability and versatility in airborne delivery, low‑altitude penetration and night or extreme‑weather missions. Two weeks of high‑intensity exercises enabled crews to plan and execute multinational missions in degraded environments, strengthening joint and inter‑ministerial operations.
