Statistics Norway released updated figures on the activity of academic and special libraries in Norway for the year 2025. The report shows that 91 libraries were active at the end of 2025. In total, they organized 1,104 physical events, 131 digital events, and 207 hybrid events. Library loans during the year reached 1,121,567 items. The combined staffing effort, measured in full‑time man‑years, amounted to 1,483 for the period ending December 31, 2025. The data are drawn from StatBank tables 14330, 14329 and 14327, and are part of Statistics Norway’s annual monitoring of library services.
