EESC Youth Test initiative was announced as a finalist in the ‘Excellence in diversity and inclusion’ category at the 2026 Ombudsman Award for Good Administration ceremony held on 30 June. The project, launched in 2024, encourages young people to shape European policy by actively participating in the EESC’s decision‑making. The initiative, co‑created with the European Youth Forum, has involved 73 youth organisations and has youth‑tested over 80 opinions, representing about a quarter of all EESC opinions. At the ceremony, Vice‑President Marija Hanževački, Youth Group President Nicoletta Merlo and Secretary‑General Isabelle Le Galo Flores represented the EESC. The award winners in the category were the DiscoverEU Inclusion Action by the European Commission.
