Norway’s service industries produced 1.6 million tonnes of waste in 2025, a 5 % drop from 2024, Statistics Norway reported. Plastics increased 4 % to 74,539 tonnes, a 429 % rise since 2008, and other materials fell 10 % to 460,847 tonnes. Wholesale and retail repair of motor vehicles led the sector with 721,586 tonnes, a 3 % increase. Human health and social work activities generated 192,713 tonnes, a 2 % decline, while administrative and support services produced 173,474 tonnes, down 21 %. Other service sections contributed 525,640 tonnes, falling 10 %.
