His work on analytic number theory and prime number distribution has earned him the Whitehead Prize (2015), European Mathematical Society Prize (2016), AMS Cole Prize (2020), and the Fields Medal (2022). He was elected to Academia Europaea (2020), Fellow of the Royal Society (2023), and founding Fellow of the Academy of Mathematical Sciences (2026).
