On July 20, 2023, Pan Gongsheng, the Party Secretary of the People’s Bank of China and Director of the State Administration of Foreign Exchange, met with a delegation from the Hong Kong Monetary Authority (HKMA) led by Chief Executive Eddie Yue. During the meeting, they discussed ways to support and consolidate Hong Kong’s position as an international financial center and strengthen financial cooperation between the mainland and Hong Kong. The meeting was also attended by People’s Bank of China Vice President Xuan Changneng and State Administration of Foreign Exchange Deputy Director Lu Lei. Prior to the meeting, Pan Gongsheng and Eddie Yue held bilateral talks, exchanging views on economic and financial issues of common concern. (End)
