Finnish Defence Forces Join Aurora 23 Exercise in Southern Sweden to Enhance Interoperability and Cooperation

The Finnish Defence Forces will participate in the Swedish Armed Forces’ main exercise Aurora 23, which will take place in Southern Sweden from 1 to 11 May. Over 1,000 soldiers from the Army, Navy, Air Force, and Defence Forces Logistics Command will take part in the exercise. Aurora 23 is the largest exercise organized in Sweden in many years, with approximately 26,000 participants from 14 different nations, including Finland, the United States, and the United Kingdom. The exercise aims to develop interoperability and deepen cooperation between Finland and Sweden, as well as enhance their ability to conduct joint operations on land, at sea, and in the air. The Finnish Defence Forces’ participation in Aurora 23 is part of their 2023 international training and exercise activities approved by the Ministry of Defence.
