Immigration Numbers Released by Danish Government

The Danish government has released provisional immigration data, detailing immigration figures by region, sex, country of last residence, and time. The data covers the first quarter of 2022 through to the first quarter of 2023.

In terms of regions, all of Denmark saw immigration in this period, with a total of 6,290 people arriving in the country. Of these, 3,090 were men.

The Faroe Islands and Greenland, both of which are territories of Denmark, saw a total of 727 and 1,357 immigrants, respectively. Albania had 178 immigrants arrive in Denmark, while Bulgaria had the most with 1,521. Romania followed with 6,367, and Ukraine with 11,916.

The majority of immigrants were from European countries, with 5,649 immigrants originating from the continent. Of these, 3,473 were men, and 2,176 were women. There were 525 immigrants from Asia, 70 from Africa, and 37 from America.

The data also shows that of the 3,090 men who immigrated to Denmark, the majority, 1,271, were from Ukraine. Poland followed with 875, and Germany with 855.

For women, Romania had the most immigrants with 1,113, followed by Ukraine with 695, and Bulgaria with 660.

The data indicates that the number of immigrants to Denmark has increased since the last quarter of 2021. In the first quarter of 2022, there were 1,707 immigrants, while in the first quarter of 2023, there were 1,922.

The Danish government notes that this is provisional data and that final figures may differ slightly. Nevertheless, the data provides an insight into immigration trends in Denmark over the past year.
