Chancellor Olaf Scholz will be attending the G7 Summit in Hiroshima, Japan, from May 19-21, 2023, according to a press release from the Press and Information Office of the Federal Government. The summit will cover a range of topics, including the situation in Ukraine, the global economy, foreign and security policy, economic resilience and security, and joint efforts for sustainability and climate protection.
During the summit, the heads of state and government will have the opportunity for bilateral talks on the sidelines of the event. After the G7 summit, Chancellor Scholz will visit South Korea on May 21, where he will meet with South Korean President Yoon Suk-Yeol to discuss geopolitical, regional, and global issues. The visit will be an opportunity to further strengthen the relationship between Germany and South Korea.
